Christmas Party Pappers: A Night at Madame Tussauds
Event Type: Corporate Christmas Party
Number of Guests: 800
Venue: Madame Tussauds
Catering Style: Food Stations & Grab Food
Setting the scene: Catering to a theme
The Christmas party is the time to give your staff the red-carpet treatment and reward them for their hard work all year round.
A theme works well to add a bit of fun and seasonality, whilst often being inspired by the surrounding of the venue itself. The Paparazzi theme selected for this corporate Christmas party fitted in perfectly with Madame Tussauds’ setting.
Madame Tussauds is an award-winning, worldwide renowned event venue, famed for its celebrity waxworks that transport guests to the glitz and glamour of Hollywood to make them feel truly special in their surroundings.
The venue can cater up to 1,000 guests and with 800 employees this was more than spacious enough to lay on the star treatment for a very flash bash!
Making an entrance: Popcorn taxi tours
Guests were greeted and offered popcorn before taking a ride on the ‘Spirit of London’.
This is a unique feature of the Madame Tussauds venue whereby a classic black taxi takes guests through the historical and cultural events that have made London one of the most iconic cities in the world.
A nice little ice-breaker and mood enhancer to get the party started.
In focus: Food that tastes as good as it looks
Once guests had arrived at the main party flair bar staff offered the guests picture perfect tipples and nibbles to get them into the celebratory frame of mind.
The guest to staff ratio was 8:1 so people felt pampered and the entourage served up plenty of dishes and smiles all evening, so the guests wanted for nothing.
A group of such dynamic stars requires a menu to match, so the food range included options for everyone’s tastes, preferences, and diets – from the savoury palette to the sweet-tooth.
There was a huge variety of quality and quirky dishes with twists on traditional Christmas foods like savoury beetroot 'panettone' with goat's cheese frosting topped with vegetable crisps.
Creative infusions such as confit of Gressingham duck, spiced red cabbage, roasted apples, crushed squash and cider glaze were served in convenient and contemporary tin cans. Chocolate covered lollipops were also available to start or finish with!
Wrapping up: Capping a night with the stars
Party formats are not set in stone, for some large and less formal events people may wish to move around more; sampling many different flavours and conversations.
With this in mind, the catering was a variety of food stations and grab food with celebrity styled sushi, beautiful bowl food, and even doughnut walls.
Popcorn to potpie satisfied the partygoers’ palettes, and a midnight feast was put on to refuel guests in advance of a full photo finish.
